Q: I still don’t understand. What is this?
A: Simple. This is Discipline & Accountability. YOU make a commitment to write every Thursday evening for an hour. We all do. Live and unrecorded Zoom stream. The first 30 minutes is general discussion and Q&A. We can discuss your work and provide feedback if necessary. The next hour is writing!
Q: What? You mean we all just sit there and write and look at each other doing so?
A: The first part of that is correct. We all sit and write. We dedicate this time together to work at a common purpose. It keeps you on track and Accountable. As far as looking at each other, well no. Turn off your camera if you like. The idea is to sit and write with other writers. It’s community and camaraderie.
Q: Will you teach me how to write or will I learn how to write by joining?
A: Nope. I cannot teach you how to write. There are some who can teach you story formula techniques (such as Pulp and Romance books) but fundamentally, no-one can teach you how to write. You need to sit your butt in the chair and do it. ;)
Q: How do I sign up?
A: Easy > click the link in the upper right hand corner of the webpage that reads, “sign up” > this will get you signed up for the Writing Buddy member area > then you will be taken to a sign up page via paypal to make your payment.
Q: How long can I be a member for?
A: as long as you like! A month, 3 months, a year, whatever! You may cancel at any time. Obviously, if you sign up and pay and then immediately cancel for a refund you will be removed from the group and no Zoom for you.
Q: Only Thursday nights? Do you or will you have other days available?
A: For now it is just Thursday nights only. I am a one-man shop and have many other endeavors. Hopefully, going forward, I might add more days and times for us all.
Q: How do I get the Zoom link to join the Live Write-Ins?
A: After you join the Writing Buddy Community and sign up you'll have access to the 'Events' page wherein the Zoom link and info shall be posted for you to join and add to your calendar!
